Ballast Nedam Development reopens the iconic Rotterdam Building after a major transformation.

The iconic office building, the 'Rotterdam Building', dating back to the 1970s and located on Aert van Nesstraat, between Coolsingel and Lijnbaan, has undergone a complete sustainable transformation. The building has been transformed into a contemporary office building where business comfort and modern design converge.

With the festive opening, Microlab, a co-working concept, and the remaining office floors are available for tenants. Also, the restaurant named Club Nomad, a Food & Beverage concept by Compass Group, opens its doors to the public. It is the first time in history that the Rotterdam Building will play a public role in the city. The various event spaces and rooftop terraces make this place a new hotspot. The building is ready for the future and has everything it takes to become a vibrant hub in the heart of the city.

Spectacular Opening

The opening event took place in the completely renovated lobby and Club Nomad. The highlight of the official opening occurred in the central hall, where key stakeholders spoke about the impressive transformation followed by the official ceremony. A spectacular live musical performance took place on the tribune staircase in the central hall, the heart of the building, enhanced by abstract visuals illustrating the transformation and future of the building. The Rotterdam artist Jackie Lou, under the direction of Steven Aswin, symbolically returned the building to the city, after which all attendees could experience the building in its new form.
