PoortMeesters
PoortMeesters, with its largest climate-neutral indoor garden in the Netherlands and 3D printed ceramic entrance gate, is a unique project following the collaboration between BPD and Ballast Nedam Development. The 114 homes will make an important contribution to the high demand for new housing. The realization is in the hands of Ballast Nedam West.
We realize a tough, urban and sturdy residential building with large town houses and luxury apartments on the 'banks' of Nieuw Delft. PoortMeesters takes its name from the two gates that provide access to the green and peaceful courtyard garden. These two gates are a 3D printed artwork consisting of 4,000 ceramic tiles. This design by Studio RAP refers to the famous Delft Blue tiles. This makes the gates the eye-catchers of PoortMeesters.

In PoortMeesters, attention is paid to special architecture, public space, art and design. In the square-shaped residential building PoortMeesters, designed by Vera Yanovshtchinsky Architects, there will be townhouses with 3 and 4 layers, 2-, 3-, and 4-room apartments, lofts and a penthouse. These different housing types make Gate Masters suitable for all stages of life. The 114 homes are future-ready and extremely sustainable. They are built with sustainable materials, are nearly zero energy and low maintenance. The triple solar panels that will be installed on the roof will be connected to a heat pump and will provide hot water in addition to electricity.
On the roof of the parking garage will be a collective indoor garden with large shrubs and trees up to nine meters high. The garden consists of two parts: a communal green space that can be used by all residents of PoortMeesters and the private gardens of the townhouses. The water storage system is unique: the climate-neutral roof can collect no less than 500,000 m3 of rainwater. Over 80% of all rain is stored and reused for sprinkling the courtyard garden.
