Festive start of construction for De Nielt in Cuijk

On Wednesday, 3 December, the start of construction of De Nielt was celebrated with a festive event. De Nielt is the final residential block of the residential island of the same name at the Kraaijenbergse Plassen in Cuijk.

In the presence of all buyers, representatives of Ballast Nedam Development, project partners and the municipality, this important milestone was marked. Alderman Bouke van Vught attended on behalf of the Municipality of Land van Cuijk.

Ceremonial moment
All buyers of De Nielt gathered on site to mark this special occasion. During the event, both the municipality and Ballast Nedam Development expressed their appreciation for the pleasant collaboration. Project partners Peters Bouw en Onderhoud and Makelaardij Twan Poels were also present at the celebration.

Crowning achievement
De Nielt comprises 16 apartments, 10 of which have been realised specifically for first-time buyers. As such, the project contributes to the demand for affordable owner-occupied housing in the region and aligns with the ambition of both the municipality and the developer to create a diverse housing supply.

The remaining apartments offer additional space and a high-quality finish, giving De Nielt a varied residential community in which different target groups can feel at home.

The building forms the final element of the residential island and is located directly on the Kraaijenbergse Plassen. This unique setting offers a living experience with direct contact with water, nature and tranquillity—while the centre of Cuijk remains easily accessible.

The design by CNCPT A Architecten connects in a contemporary way with the natural setting of the residential island. Through the combination of robust materials, clean lines and generous outdoor spaces, De Nielt has a timeless appearance. The architecture strengthens the relationship between the building, the water and the landscape, allowing the apartments to fully benefit from light and views.

Construction and planning
With the ground floor already under construction, Peters Bouw en Onderhoud will continue working on the realisation over the coming months. Construction is proceeding according to schedule. The festive start marks a wonderful moment to look ahead together with residents and partners to the further development and the eventual completion of the residential island.
