Festive start of construction for 'de Hoven' in Aarlesche Erven Best.

Construction kickoff celebration with official ceremony

At the end of 2022, the first pile of 'de Hoven' was driven by builder Van de Klok, marking the official start of construction, which was celebrated with the buyers. After a reception and welcome speech at restaurant Suus, the future residents and other guests walked to the construction site. There, an official ceremony took place: burying a time capsule filled with cards on which the new residents had written their housing wishes.

Among those present at the construction site was Rik Dijkhoff, councilor of the municipality of Best. He is enthusiastic about the arrival of the new homes and succinctly summarizes the construction of the first phase of 'de Hoven': "Working to continue building in Best." After the official ceremony, a toast was held at restaurant Suus, followed by an opportunity for the future neighbors to get acquainted over drinks and snacks.

Biodiverse and sustainable living environment

The development partnership of Ballast Nedam Development and Novaform Real Estate Developers is also pleased with the arrival of 'de Hoven'. Onno Dwars and Paul van den Heuvel, representing the partnership, stated: "Science shows that we are healthier when we live in a nature-rich environment. As area developers, we play an important role in realizing a biodiverse and sustainable living environment. In 'de Hoven', we achieve this by installing nest boxes and rain barrels, creating green roofs, and promoting an edible living environment."

With 'de Hoven', the high ambitions of the Aarlesche Erven area development in terms of sustainability and biodiversity are being realized. The homes are energy-neutral and zero-energy. Edible berry hedges will be planted at the front of the homes. To enhance biodiversity, property boundaries will be adorned with ivy hedges and supplemented with other (edible) climbing plants. Buyers will receive a voucher to design an edible or sustainable garden.

Construction and Schedule

The homes in 'de Hoven' are being built by Van de Klok from Nijmegen. Stefan van Duijnhoven, director of Van de Klok Wonen, states: "We are delighted to celebrate the start of construction together with the future residents. At Van de Klok, we have every confidence in a smooth construction process, after which the residents of 'de Hoven' can enjoy their beautiful energy-efficient homes in a nature-rich environment."

The homes are expected to be completed in the third or fourth quarter of this year. The next phase of 'de Hoven' will go on sale in the spring. This phase will consist of a diverse range of 31 sustainable row houses, semi-detached homes, and detached houses.
