A new part of the city is taking shape around Hoorn station. Working together as the De Nieuwe Golf consortium, Ballast Nedam Development and Blauwhoed are partnering with the municipality of Hoorn to develop the station area within Poort van Hoorn. The area will be transformed into a vibrant urban neighbourhood that brings together living, working, learning, meeting and spending time.
From Station Area to Urban Neighbourhood
The station area is an important link between Hoorn’s historic city centre and its surrounding neighbourhoods. The development will make the railway less of a dividing line and more of a connecting element. The ambition is to create an attractive destination where people do more than arrive and depart: a place where they also enjoy spending time.
Homes and Amenities
The station area has space for more than 500 homes in a range of types and price brackets, from affordable apartments for first-time buyers to townhouses, homes designed for friends to share and housing for older residents. There will also be at least 13,500 m² of commercial and community amenities. Hospitality venues, workspaces and other urban uses will keep the area lively throughout the day.

Under the name De Nieuwe Golf, Ballast Nedam Development and Blauwhoed bring together their experience in inner-city and station area developments. Innovation is combined with respect for Hoorn’s identity and historic qualities. Alongside the completed buildings, placemaking, temporary activities and collaboration with the city will play an important role in bringing the area to life.
