What made this project so special was our implementation of the FMC concept (Flexible Modular Shell). This innovative housing concept, developed through close collaboration with key partners including Spaansen, Appel Beton, Houttec Prefab B.V., Schipper Kozijnen, Boxum Installatiegroep, and Breman Installatiegroep, offered a standardized approach with high-quality results. The basis of the homes consisted of prefab concrete shells on a prefab foundation, with the shell already equipped with a fully developed installation concept.

A sustainable choice was the connection to district heating, making the homes completely gas-free. Additionally, all homes are equipped with PV panels, resulting in a significantly lower Energy Performance Coefficient (EPC) than the applicable standard. The aesthetic aspect was not forgotten: the exterior of the homes was characterized by distinctive masonry, with alternating vertical and protruding layers, creating a unique appearance and character to the Nordlandt residential area.
