The tunnel serves as the entrance to a new parking garage built for the Eleven Square project. Eleven Square is a new neighborhood near ArenaPoort, which will be constructed in a few years. The project is led by the development consortium OMC, a collaboration between the area developer AM and Ballast Nedam Development. Since the realization of Eleven Square is still pending, a temporary use for the tunnel has been sought in collaboration with the Municipality of Amsterdam.

Club Echo Several parties submitted proposals. A jury evaluated them based on the program, operational plan, and opportunities for talent from Zuidoost. Club Echo, a collaboration between Urban Sync and LITT Events, emerged as the winner. According to the jury, Club Echo's concept contributes to the livability of the area and the nightlife culture in Amsterdam. Club Echo plans to offer a diverse program and collaborate with multiple organizations and program makers from the Zuidoost district.

For a period of 2 to 3 years, the focus will be on establishing a new, temporary, and small-scale platform for music, dance, visual arts, and debate in Zuidoost. It will have programming during the day, evening, and night. As it stands, Club Echo - the provisional name - is set to open its doors in the tunnel in the fall.

Eleven Square, situated between the Johan Cruijff ArenA and Bijlmer ArenA station, is a development by the development consortium OMC (a collaboration between area developer AM and Ballast Nedam Development). The project consists of four buildings designed by the internationally renowned architects of MVRDV. One of these will become the tallest residential tower in Amsterdam: a new landmark in the city's skyline. A central square will serve as the beating heart of Eleven Square, featuring an astonishing combination of A-brands, local influencers, health and sports facilities, new food and community concepts, offices, and both for-sale and rental homes.
