The highest point of the construction in the Le Sud area, located at the Groene Loper, was celebrated last Thursday. With a cozy gathering, buyers, Laudy Bouw & Ontwikkeling, and stakeholders from Ballast Nedam Development came together to mark this significant milestone. This area, comprising sustainable homes and apartments, is being constructed on the southern side of the Groene Loper in Maastricht. Buyers of the apartments are expected to move into their new homes by the end of this year. The delivery of the first ground-level homes in the Fleur neighborhood will follow in early 2024.

Residential neighborhood Fleur

The energy-neutral homes in Fleur are part of the Le Sud area on the south side of the Groene Loper. Laudy Bouw & Ontwikkeling began construction of the neighborhood at the beginning of 2023. The elegant townhouses and sustainable urban villas were designed by the award-winning architectural firm Bedaux de Brouwer.

Fleur consists of three separate sections, each with its own typology specially designed for the curved streets. The design of Fleur is based on the proven architectural values of Maastricht. As a result, these white homes are built on a natural stone plinth, making them timeless and sustainable. The interplay between the Groene Loper itself, where people stroll, and the excellent timeless design, energy and material efficiency, and attention to the health of humans and animals, make this project a carefully balanced area development. Ballast Nedam Development's holistic vision is realized here.

Apartments Amelie, Jolie, and Het Gastenhuis

The realization of the apartments in phase 4 is progressing well, and the 70 owner-occupied apartments of Amélie and Jolie will be delivered by the end of this year. Het Gastenhuis is the last block of phase 4, which will be completed in the first quarter of 2024. All the owner-occupied homes have been sold, and the care apartments at Het Gastenhuis are being rented out.

Laudy Bouw & Ontwikkeling started construction here in December 2021. Together with the Fleur plan, these apartment buildings form the beating heart of Le Sud. The southern part of the Groene Loper is beginning to take shape here. Here too, the high-quality urban and architectural quality of the Groene Loper area development is visible, where the residential neighborhood connects to the high-quality public space.

De Groene Loper

At De Groene Loper in Maastricht, Ballast Nedam Development will develop around 1,380 homes and apartments in the coming years. The Groene Loper is taking shape more and more, with development ongoing in both the northern and southern parts. Approximately 200 homes are currently under construction, and nearly 500 homes have already been delivered. This impressive area development creates a new part of the city for Maastricht and reunites the previously divided city.
