Important Step
Councilor Marlies Volten: "This is an important step for the housing development plan 'Nieuw Boekhorst.' The 1250 to 1300 homes in this plan meet the demand for additional housing. The housing offer being developed here complements the current supply well. There will be a mix of affordable homes, mid-priced, and free-sector homes, including apartments and family homes, with a strong focus on affordable housing."
Collaboration
The development of Nieuw Boekhorst is a collaboration between the municipality of Teylingen, Heijmans, Ballast Nedam Development, Rotij Grondontwikkeling West, Achmea Real Estate on behalf of the BPL Pension Foundation, and Blokhuis. The anterior agreement outlines agreements on aspects such as collaboration methods and finances. The municipality also signed the purchase and cooperation agreement with Stek on Monday. This agreement covers the construction of social housing. Furthermore, agreements have been made with one of the landowners, Van der Hulst Construction Company, regarding the relocation of the self-harvest garden 'Elsgeesterhof' to the adjacent area 'De Driehoek' and the establishment of nature in this area.
Amenities
In addition to homes, various amenities will be considered in the newly developed area, such as a school, sports facilities including a sports hall, commercial amenities, and a marina. All of this has been outlined in the zoning plan that was recently available for inspection.
Phase 1 Started
Preparatory design work for the first phase, known as "De Vijver" (The Pond), has commenced. This initial phase will feature various types of homes. The presale begins on December 13, 2023. Rental is expected to start towards the end of 2025, leading up to the completion of the rental homes. The first construction activities are expected to commence in mid-2024.
