38 homes from the first phase of Aarlesche Erven in Best have been delivered.

Recently, the homes from the first phase of the new neighborhood "De Hoven van Aarlesche Erven" in Best have been completed! "De Hoven van Aarlesche Erven" is a development by Best Wonen V.O.F., a joint venture between Ballast Nedam Development and Novaform Vastgoedontwikkelaars, and it is the newest neighborhood in Best. The neighborhood comprises approximately 880 homes and is situated on the north side of Best, with the beautiful nature reserve "Het Groene Woud" as the backyard of the neighborhood. This first phase consists of a total of 38 sustainable homes for sale, and the keys have been officially handed over to the buyers.

With the first 38 homes in "De Hoven," high ambitions in terms of sustainability have been met, and an emphasis has been placed on creating an edible living environment. All homes are energy-neutral or even energy-positive.

About the development and construction

The distinctive robust Brabantian architecture was designed by Schippers architects BNA. On November 17, 2022, the first pile was driven by contractor Van de Klok from Nijmegen, and just under a year later, the construction of this phase was fully completed, resulting in a beautiful outcome.

Sustainability as a Starting Point

Sustainability is one of the core values for the development consortium. The Hoven is an exceptionally sustainable project in various respects. The homes are energy-neutral or even zero-energy. In collaboration with Vogelbescherming Nederland (Bird Protection Netherlands), nest boxes have been installed in the homes, and a Bird Safari through the neighborhood was recently organized. Additionally, all residents have received an 'edible garden' package, including items such as pear or apple trees, a vegetable garden, raspberry and herb plants, and even a greenhouse. An edible garden provides the opportunity to have pesticide-free, healthy food readily available at home. A notable feature at the Hoven van Aarlesche Erven is that the storage units have green sedum roofs. Together with the green layout of the plots and the creation of ample public green spaces, this contributes to maintaining and enhancing biodiversity. Finally, all homes have been equipped with a rain barrel connected to the rainwater drain, allowing future residents to use rainwater to water the plants in the garden. This abundance of greenery is the strength of the Hoven.
