On Wednesday, October 11th, the municipality of Hoeksche Waard and 8 market parties joined forces to facilitate the construction of the new neighborhood, 'Stougjeswijk', in Oud-Beijerland. Alderman Robin Heij and representatives of the 8 market parties signed the main agreement. This agreement is an important step in the development of the area where 2,485 new homes will be built. It also emphasizes the collaboration between the parties and the joint vision for the new neighborhood. The new neighborhood is planned between the Stougjesdijk and the N217 in Oud-Beijerland.
To facilitate the development of Stougjeswijk, the municipality is collaborating with 8 parties: BPD Bouwfonds Gebiedsontwikkeling, AM, Ballast Nedam Development, Roosdom Tijhuis, Achmea Real Estate, Van der Vorm, ABB Bouwgroep, and Adriaan van Erk.
Stougjeswijk wordt a future-proof and sustainable neighborhood, where a mix of homes will be available for all target groups.
"Stougjeswijk is needed to meet the current and future demand for housing," says Alderman Robin Heij. "We want Stougjeswijk to be a pleasant place to live and to make a positive contribution to the desires we have for the Hoeksche Waard in terms of Housing, Welfare and Care, and sustainability. A future-proof and green neighborhood with homes and apartments for different target groups, such as buyers, renters, starters, movers, and seniors. What I like about this plan is that it meets the needs of different groups of people. We are not just building homes; we are creating an attractive living environment. And with the construction of good cycle paths and the arrival of a dedicated rapid R-net bus lane, we are connecting Stougjeswijk with the rest of the area," continues Alderman Robin Heij.
The market parties added: "As development parties, we share a strong vision with the municipality for a new forward-thinking and sustainable neighborhood at this location. We are building a neighborhood where you can live, stay, meet, and above all, enjoy. The Hoeksche Waard landscape forms the basis for the new neighborhood, with the polder, the dike, and the creek as visible elements. By offering a mix of homes and housing types for all ages, we ensure that Stougjeswijk consists of various neighborhoods of different sizes. It is very rewarding to work together from a shared vision on the creation of this new neighborhood."
